Established for over 27 years we are a popular playgroup providing a happy, inclusive and secure environment in which children can play and learn. Ideally situated on a site with Thorndown Infants and Thorndown Junior Schools. We are proud to be a member of the St Ives Learning Community and the Thorndown Community.

We are open to every family in the community and provide Pre-school and Nursery sessions, welcoming children from the half term of their 3rd birthday (at only £4.50 per session).

The aims of the playgroup are to help children develop, discover and learn through play activities, and more specifically we aim to provide:-

• A happy secure non-judgmental environment in which the children can learn.
• A stimulating range of activities relevant to a child's needs and stage of development offering children the opportunity to learn through play.
• To give the children the opportunity to make choices, explore, experiment and discover at their own pace.
• The opportunity for a child to gain confidence in their own ability by helping them with new skills, for example, cutting and pencil control, and by rewarding their effort and not the finished product.
• Play is pressure free and allows children to take risks.
• CHILDREN LEARN THROUGH PLAY. PLAY IS YOUR CHILD'S WORK!
• Through the activities put out at each session we endeavor to provide sufficient opportunity for children to work towards the Early Learning Goals necessary before they reach statutory school age.
